H E L P !

Dear Blog pals,

Lend me a helping handddddd...I am relatively new to the blog world so need your help to crack down some things. Is there a problem in using customised templates? Somehow, the available templates in blog was not so much pleasing either I hated the colors or for their clumsiness so I went ahead and downloaded a better looking template.

My previous template was not working for some of the widgets. The html when added just dont work hence I switched over to the current one. This seems to have been working better but again when I try to add widgets like Link Within, it does not work.

I know issues are with the template because all of these things work fine with my other blog that is having a standard blogger template.

Hufff...I am tired of changing templates.. Have u faced similar troubles? Or is it best to switch back to Standard blogger template??

hmmm...I had the same prob...I have tried changing templates and worked on it almost everyday for weeks together and finally learnt my lesson... Go with the regular custom templates given by blogger. Just change the basic colours for a better appeal.
The biggest disadvantage is that u will not have a 3 column template.
Many widgets either dont work or the entire template gets messed up if using downloaded templates.
If u are an expert in HTML, u can fix it...

Sowmya,
If you change from the standard template, you will have problems. From the standard one you can change it from two to three column one.OR First save the widgets and then add back to your new one. Iam not an expert so I would advise you to google about your problem.

Sowmya,
I recently changed my template from standard blogger template to this customized one. You can check here www.ourbloggertemplates.com..they have lots of templates and I didn't have any problem changing and they have a detailed instructions uploading the template and before doing anything, take a backup of your old template always to save your posts and widgets.

This may be a late reply.. I too tried to change the template a lotof times but it never worked. Then I switched back the blogger template itself. I had problems with ourbloggertemplates.com too.. their comments section did not work. I tried many but was failing. Now I think they have come up with a solution to it.. Good luck
